It is said that he suffered from paranoid schizophrenia associated with a lack of awareness of reality. Prosecutors have requested that the defendant be placed in a mental hospital. His trial was also said to be about two other crimes. In January 2025, the 39-year-old man is said to have tried to kill his then-69-year-old father with scissors in Großhansdorf (Stormarn district), northeast of Hamburg.
