Machine manufacturers for electronics production are slowly gaining hope for improvement. This is demonstrated by figures from the industry association within the VDMA mechanical engineering association, presented at the start of the Productronica trade fair in Munich. The industry has had some tough years.
According to a survey conducted by a specialist group, almost 20 percent of companies expect their business situation to improve in the next six months, while only 10 percent expect the situation to worsen. About 20 percent also expect sales growth of 10 to 15 percent by 2026. However, more than half of companies describe their current situation as bad or very bad. Only 0.5 percent rated the company as good, and not a single company in the survey rated the company as very good.
However, there are clear differences depending on the industry in which the electrical machine manufacturer works. Those for whom the automotive industry is their most important customer assess the situation and prospects as much worse than average.
On the other hand, global demand for electronic components and assemblies is increasing significantly worldwide, as reported by the Association of Electrical and Digital Industries (ZVEI). However, America, China and the Asia/Pacific region are the countries driving demand the most. However, the association expects growth to return in Europe this year, although significantly lower than growth in the rest of the world.
