Four new members in the Association “I Centenari”: these are four Neapolitan companies that have just passed the rigorous evaluation of the Steering Committee responsible for verifying, through original documentation, the date of foundation and continuity of management in the family.
These are Di Mauro Officine Grafiche SpA (since 1895, Cava dei Tirreni – Salerno) De Simone Fratelli since 1855, Torre del Greco – Naples), Nappa Gioielli (since 1920 – Naples) and Rosario Niola Art and Restoration Bookbinder (since 1900 – Naples), four very important names in history, each in their respective sectors.
Di Mauro Officine Grafiche, the flexible packaging specialist, was born as a spin-off of Emilio Di Mauro founded in 1895. The Di Mauro family today celebrates 130 years of entrepreneurial activity: the founder started a small print shop and the following generations, remaining loyal to the world of printing, were able to evolve by anticipating market changes. Today it is a Benefit Company. Di Mauro flexible packaging is a group with three factories in Cava de’ Tirreni, one in Milan and one in Reggio Emilia, led by the fourth generation.
The history of the De Simone family and company begins in Torre del Greco, in 1855. For generations dedicated to the selection of high-quality natural raw materials such as coral, pearls, cameos and jewelry. He always had an international vocation that led him to open historic offices in 1910 in New York and in 1920 in London. The company led by brothers Michele, Massimo and Fiammetta has the right track: expressing new concepts, creating unique pieces where tradition and contemporary design expertly coexist.
Nappa Gioielli was born in Naples in 1920, when the young goldsmith Michele Nappa opened her first shop in the heart of the historic center. With him begins a family history spanning four generations. In the 1970s, the business moved to Gaetano Filangieri, where the family continued to grow with the community, turning the Boutique into a city landmark. Leadership today is in the hands of a new generation, all women. Marina, Camilla and Alessandra Nappa who also want to preserve a small in-house production that maintains and strengthens the connection with its origins.
