Because of the devastating fires in the south Kazakhstan Twelve people, including nine children, were killed. Three people were rescued unconscious from a burning house, the Tengrinews news agency reported, citing civil protection. The crash site, Algabas, is a village in the southernmost part of the Central Asian country; The next major city, 100 kilometers away, is the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
According to information obtained, the fire destroyed the entire two-story residential building. Neighbors said there were many guests at home after the celebration, Tengrinews reported. From the Kazakh capital, Astana, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered an investigation into the cause of the fire. He also promised help to those who mourn.
