The Mossos d’Esquadra have opened an investigation to clarify the death of a woman which occurred last night at the Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). The city’s traffic police arrested the son of the victim, who died in hospital, on charges of throwing her from the balcony. Catalan police are now working to determine what happened in the municipality adjacent to Barcelona.
The episode occurred shortly before 1 am, when the woman fell from the balcony of an apartment located in Llobregat de l’Hospitalet street. Initially the woman was taken in serious condition to Bellvitge hospital, where she died at dawn.
The Hospitalet Urban Police arrested the victim’s son on the spot, accused of throwing his mother from the balcony. The investigation has now passed into the hands of the Mossos d’Esquadra, who are gathering evidence to establish what happened. The court on duty was informed of the woman’s death.
