VICENZA (ITALPRES) – Massive operation by the Vicenza Carabinieri throughout the national territoryespecially in the capital Berico and other provinces of Veneto, the provinces of Frosinone and Viterbo. Prison guard orders were issued to 20 peopleaims to dismantle a criminal organization consisting of Nigerian citizens and rooted in Vicenza.
The operation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Venice Prosecutor’s Office, involved 300 carabinieri from all over the region, with the support of the Lombardy and Emilia Romagna regiments, the special intervention teams of the 7th Trentino Alto Adige, the 13th Friuli Venezia Giulia and the 4th Veneto battalions, the emergency response unit of the province of Padua, the anti-drug dog unit and the aircraft of the 14th Belluno Helinucleus.
In addition to personal precautions, dozens of home searches are being conducted.
