May continue at Gladbach: Eugen Polanski will be the new head coach

Bundesliga football team Borussia Mönchengladbach relies on Eugen Polanski for the long term in terms of coaching. As the club announced on Tuesday, the current temporary solution is to get a contract until 2028.
After Gladbach’s false start to the season, there should be a fresh start. Apart from coach Eugen Polanski, new sporting director Rouven Schröder is expected to turn things around.

The 39-year-old took over as coach following the sacking of Gerardo Seoane after matchday three and recently celebrated three consecutive competitive wins with Borussia.

Eugen impressed us from the start with his content and quality of character, and we are confident that with him as head coach we can continue the positive developments in recent weeks.

After five games without a win at the start, Polanski managed to reverse the trend in the league with his recent success at FC St. Pauli (4:0) and in the derby against 1. FC Köln (3:1), leading the struggling traditional club from 18th to twelfth. He also took Borussia to the last 16 of the DFB Cup with a 3-1 win against Karlsruher SC.
Rouven Schröder gives Eugen Polanski hope of becoming a permanent solution at Borussia Mönchengladbach. In an interview with Lili Engels, the sports director praised the coach.

First coaching position with professionals for Polanski
“I’ve never made a secret of what this role at my hometown club means to me,” said Polanski.

Eugen Polanski, coach at Gladbach
Polanski previously coached the U23 club. This is his first coaching position in the professional sector. During his active career, which ended in the summer of 2018, he played 44 Bundesliga games for Borussia, among others.
