The North Hessian Transport Association (NVV) will increase ticket prices by an average of 4.9 percent on January 1, 2026. This means that coverage of local public transport costs through income from ticket sales should remain at a constant level, the Kassel-based transport association said. The background to this adjustment plan is the general increase in local public transport costs.
According to NVV, tariff adjustments were offset by increased supply. With the schedule change in 2026, the schedule will be further optimized with the motto “Every village, every hour”. In recent years, the association has gone on the offensive to expand its offerings, particularly in bus transportation. The goal is that each location can be reached by bus or train at least once an hour.
