HSV mascot Dino Hermann made a provocation at the DFB Cup – was that unsporting?

HSV mascot Dino Hermann attracted attention with his various wild actions against Bayer Leverkusen. The goal: create a mood and confuse opponents. Is that still okay or just plain rude?

The HSV women’s team had many reasons to celebrate on Sunday evening: after a dramatic victory on penalties (4:2) over Bayer Leverkusen, the team advanced to the quarter-finals of the DFB Cup. There was huge support from mascot Dino Hermann.

The blue prehistoric monster heated up the atmosphere with its unusual dance moves: the dinosaur several times pulled up its white jersey and showed its belly or shook its big buttocks intensively. The “sexy” performance had only one purpose: to distract Leverkusen’s penalty takers.

What do you think about the HSV mascot’s dance performance? Is Dino Hermann allowed to support his team with unusual – or even unsportsmanlike – actions? Write us your opinion at t-online.hamburg@stroeer-publishing.de.
