A 30-year-old was at Westplatz Leipzig was hit by a tram and seriously injured. The man fell in the area of the railway tracks, a police spokesman said when asked. The tram was unable to brake in time and hit the man’s lower limbs. The “Leipziger Volkszeitung”, among others, has reported previously.
The accident occurred at 16.45. at the stop of the same name. The man was responsive and taken to hospital for further treatment.
For rescue work, Käthe-Kollwitz-Straße was initially closed completely and then opened to one lane. Restrictions have now been lifted, police announced.
