The Spaniard was once again world No. 1 and will remain there at least until the end of 2025 but the ATP Finals title was lost to him at the end of a tournament played in extraordinary fashion, including the final. Carlitos had to surrender to Jannik who played solidly and effectively, also canceling a set point against Murcian which of course could have changed the fate of the match completely. However, there are several signs that this match will be difficult for Alcaraz. The injury was minor but still would force the Spaniard to miss the Davis Cup with Spain.
