The construction site of Olympique de Marseille’s future headquarters inspired Pablo Longoria. On Monday, the president of the Marseille club went to the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, not far from the Vélodrome, to appreciate the work on the headquarters of the next Olympics. This Thursday, the Spaniard published a long message on LinkedIn praising the project and calling on the Marseille community to unite.
“This new headquarters is not a simple step. It is a restructuring step towards the club we want: an OM that is modern, organized, aligned with European standards and true to its identity,” he wrote on the professional social network. According to him, this is a way to make his team’s work more effective, while also allowing the training center to “dedicate itself exclusively to the field”.
“Nothing from outside can shake us”
Longoria also took the opportunity to point out “a certain environment around the club” that “causes division, controversy and exaggeration, turning every detail into conflict”. Therefore, he advocates a one-versus-all strategy, like Roberto De Zerbi, or an all-against-all strategy.
“We must not allow ourselves to be carried away by what seeks to divide us,” he continued. And if we move forward united, nothing from the outside can shake us. The future is built by looking forward, not by reacting to provocation. Marseille deserves a strong, modern and European-oriented OM. »
