Women’s welfare pension: payment dates for new beneficiaries aged between 60 and 62

The Welfare Secretariat has announced the pension payment calendar for women aged 60, 61 and 62 who signed up in August, when they were included in the call for the first time. Payment begins this Tuesday 18 November and is deposited on the Banco del Bienestar card that each beneficiary has received in recent weeks.

This filing marks the official start of providing economic support to this new group of beneficiaries, adding to the national effort to ensure greater economic independence for women.

The objective is to incorporate all Mexican women between the ages of 60 and 64 into the support program, so as to guarantee them financial support starting from the age of 60, and that upon reaching the age of 65 they are automatically integrated into the pension for the Welfare of the Elderly.

The payment schedule and the amount of support

The financial support for the beneficiaries is 3,000 pesos every two months, with the aim of recognizing their work, especially in care and domestic tasks, tasks that historically have not been paid or made visible.

According to official data, there are currently almost three million women enrolled in the program, including new additions and those who have already received support. Dispersals are carried out according to the initial of the first surname, according to the following calendar:

Payday in November Initial letter of the first surname
Tuesday 18 A,B,C,D
Wednesday 19th E, F, G, H, I, J, K
Thursday 20th L, M, N, Ñ, O, P, Q
Friday 21st R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z

The beneficiaries will be able to use the resource starting from the deposit date; they do not need to collect the support on the same day as the payment.

The automatic transition to the Senior Pension

One of the main advantages of the program is the guaranteed continuity. Upon reaching the age of 65, beneficiaries will automatically be integrated into the Elderly Welfare Pension, which ensures they continue to receive support without interruption.

The advantages of the Banco del Bienestar card

The Banco del Bienestar card offers various possibilities of use. The card allows you to withdraw cash at the same institution’s ATMs, without charging commissions.

You can also make withdrawals at other banks, although they charge service fees. The card can also be used to withdraw cash at the Banco del Bienestar counters and to make purchases in self-service shops and in businesses equipped with a banking terminal.

According to the Welfare Secretariat, the social investment allocated to this women’s pension for this cycle amounts to more than 8 billion pesos. The call for applications to enroll in the program will be reopened every two months to accommodate new additions.

Why was the Women’s Wellbeing Pension created?

The Women’s Wellbeing Pension was created as a response to recognize women’s rights and reduce the historical inequality gap compared to men. According to the National Discrimination Survey (ENADIS) 2022, 35.3% of women said they had been discriminated against because of their gender, while the National Occupation and Employment Survey (ENOE) 2024 indicates that only 46 out of 100 women of working age are economically active, compared to 76 out of 100 men. Added to this is the persistent wage gap and lack of own income.
