Starting on Saturday: New TV companion for Buschmann | sport

Commentator Frank Buschmann (60) receives huge support for his NBA comeback on TV! On Saturday (November 22) he will be on the microphone on Sky for the game between the Orlando Magic and New York Knicks starting at 10:45 p.m. A new expert will make his debut by his side: former national player Mithat Demirel (47). He played a total of 100 international matches and won bronze at the 2002 World Cup and silver at the European Championships in 2005 alongside legend Dirk Nowitzki.

For Buschmann, it was a signal of the beginning of his old love basketball in service to Sky, who he commented otherwise on football. The Hagen native was recently in action at the national team tournament, which was broadcast by RTL. This includes the European Championships in 2022 and 2025. The NBA still knows Buschmann from his time at DSF/Sport1, where he regularly took over live games.

In addition to Demirel, there will be a second expert premiere on Saturday: 3×3 Olympic champion Svenja Brunckhorst (34), who works in the management of Alba Berlin, will comment on the match of the Charlotte Hornets against the Los Angeles Clippers together with Markus Krawinkel from 18:45. Brunckhorst has gained TV experience on the Dyn platform, where he analyzes Bundesliga matches.

With those two additions, the NBA Sky crew is complete. Other experts also include Bayern’s current professional and European champion Oscar da Silva (27) as well as former national player Bastian Doreth (36) and national player Marie Gülich (31). Basketball influencer Aurelia Rieke is also part of the team as an on-set reporter. Another commentator is Martin Gräfe.

Interesting constellation: Da Silva is also expected to commentate on the game played by his brother Tristan (24), who plays for the Orlando Magic in the NBA. The two won the European Championship title together this year.
