‘Wicked 2’ in theaters today, plot, cast and dubbing of the musical

It’s time to return to the magical world of Oz. Showing in cinemas starting todayEvil – Part 2‘, with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey. ‘Wicked’ sequel releasing in 2024, here’s asecond act adaptation of musical theater that blew Broadway away.

storyline

Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile in the woods of Oz, continuing her fight for freedom for the animals of Oz and desperately trying to uncover the truth about the Witch (Jeff Goldblum). Glinda, meanwhile, has become the epitome of goodness for all of Oz, living in the palace of the Emerald City and enjoying fame and popularity. Under the direction of Madame Morrible (Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh), Glinda serves as a shining beacon for the people of Oz, assuring the masses that all is well under the Witch’s rule.

As Glinda (Ariana Grande) grows to fame and prepares to marry Prince Fiyero (Olivier Award winner and Emmy and SAG nominee Jonathan Bailey) in a spectacular Lazy wedding, she is haunted by her separation from Elphaba. He attempts reconciliation between Elphaba and the Witch, but his efforts fail, further alienating Elphaba and Glinda. The consequences will change Boq (Tony winner Ethan Slater) and Fiyero forever, and jeopardize the safety of Elphaba’s sister Nessarose (Marissa Bode) when a girl from Kansas comes into their lives. When an angry mob rises up against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba must reunite one last time. With their single friendship at the center of their future, they must confront sincerity and empathy if they want to change themselves, and all of Oz, forever.

In addition to well-known musical theater songs, this second film contains two previously unreleased songs: ‘No Place Like Home’ performed by Cynthia Erivo/Elphaba, and ‘The Girl in the Bubble’ performed by Ariana Grande/Glinda. What language are films used in cinemas

‘Wicked – Part 2’, directed by John M. Chu, will be available in theaters in English with Italian subtitles and in a version dubbed into Italian, with English songs with Italian subtitles.

Theme of friendship and change

In the original version, the title of the film is ‘For Good’, which is reminiscent of the most famous song from the second act of the fantasy musical, but also aims to underline the main theme of the story: friendship is capable of changing people and leading them to new paths.
