Portuguese soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and billionaire Elon Musk attended a lavish dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday in honor of the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi club Al Nassr, like many professionals at the end of their careers tempted by the kingdom’s exorbitant spending, criticized for his human rights record.
The 40-year-old, whose contract with the Saudi club expires this summer, recently said in an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan that Donald Trump “is one of the people who can help change the world.”
The FIFA President was also present
“You know, my son is a big Ronaldo fan,” Donald Trump said in his pre-dinner speech, adding that Barron, 19, got to meet the superstar.
The world of football was also represented by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in his new appearance at the White House ahead of the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by the United States. For Cristiano Ronaldo, this World Cup will “undoubtedly” be his last.
Billionaire Elon Musk was also present despite sitting at a different table to Donald Trump, a sign of increasingly warm relations between the president and the world’s richest man.

But tensions between the two men exploded in June after Elon Musk’s criticism of Donald Trump’s budget bill. He also said that the president was included in the files related to sex criminal Jeffrey Epstein.
