Fake news“, he answered without even waiting for the end of the question from Mary Bruce, ABC News journalist. Donald Trump violently attacked two American reporters within a few days of each other, threatening, in particular, on Tuesday, November 18, to ban the ABC News channel from broadcasting because of a question that angered him. Another sexist and misogynistic reflection of the American president.

On Tuesday, he took it this time. “You are a terrible person“, Donald Trump told ABC News’ Mary Bruce, calling his channel… “fake news”. The journalist had just asked questions about the Trump family’s affairs in Saudi Arabia and the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, when the American president received the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in the Oval Office.

“Is it appropriate, Mr President, for your family to do business in Saudi Arabia while you are president? Is this a conflict of interest?”began the journalist. Saudi developer Dar Global announced a new partnership in the Maldives with the Trump Organization on Monday. This conglomerate has been managed since 2016 by Donald Junior and Eric Trump, two sons of the American president, who remain shareholders through a trust.

“And Your Majesty, US intelligence has concluded that you masterminded the brutal murder of a journalist, the families of 9/11 victims are outraged that you are here in the Oval Office. Why should the American people believe you?“, added Mary Bruce. The responsibility of “MBS” has been demonstrated by American intelligence agencies in the murder of journalists from Washington Post, Jamal Khashoggi.

The American president denies any conflict of interest. “I have nothing to do with my family affairs. I left that behind“, he assured, before defending his guest about Jamal Khashoggi, saying that the prince “know nothing”. “You don’t need to embarrass our guests by asking such questions.”he added.

But ABC News journalists weren’t surprised by the exchange. He returned to the lawsuit minutes later, this time on the Epstein file. “You know, it’s not the question that bothers me. It’s your attitude. I think you’re a bad journalist.”Trump replied angrily. “I’ll tell you something. I think the (broadcasting) license should be revoked from the ABC, because your information is very wrong and erroneous.”he continued.
He urged the head of America’s audiovisual regulator (FCC), which in the past has threatened the ABC – accused of being a “radical left” media outlet – with sanctions, to “look at this”. It was he who was the reason for the suspension of the satirical show on the same channel with star host Jimmy Kimmel. Before telling journalists: “No more questions from you.”

Aboard the presidential plane Air Force One last Friday, Donald Trump was asked about the Epstein affair, which has embroiled his administration for several months. He then responded, quite annoyed, that he knew nothing about the sexual crimes committed by the financier he had worked with for years.

And when journalist Catherine Lucey, from the American news agency Bloomberg, tried to ask a question about his refusal to publish investigative documents, the American president interrupted, leaned towards her, pointed at her and said: “Shut up. Shut up, you sow!“The incident was reported on Tuesday by American media.

Both women received many messages of support. The exchange comes at a difficult time for Donald Trump, who is pressed to change the Jeffrey Epstein issue and faced with divisions within his own party.
