Russian drone strikes hit residential areas and schools: 36 people were injured, including children

A Russian drone strike in eastern Ukraine injured 36 people, including two children. Residential buildings, schools and supermarkets were damaged.

According to Ukrainian reports, at least 36 people were injured in Russian drone strikes in eastern Ukraine. Two children aged nine and 13 were among the injured, Kharkiv police said on Wednesday. More than ten residential buildings, a school and a supermarket were damaged in the attack.

According to state broadcaster Suspilne, emergency services evacuated 48 people, including three children, from a smoke-filled residential building.

Warning of Russian attacks in western Ukraine

In the west of the country, authorities issued warnings of a Russian attack. “The enemy is attacking western Ukraine with drones,” Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadowy said via the Telegram online service. “Don’t ignore the alarm! Stay in the shelter!”. According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Energy, there have been further power outages in several regions of Ukraine due to Russian attacks.

Increased attacks just before the start of winter
