FC Barcelona-Eintracht Frankfurt, corresponding to the sixth matchday of the Champions League group stage, will be played on December 9, starting at 9pm, at the Spotify Camp Nou, after UEFA has given its consent, as reported in a statement from the Barça club on Wednesday. This decision comes after FC Barcelona announced its return to Camp Nou in the EA Sports Liga match against Athletic Club, which will be played this Saturday, after obtaining the first occupancy license for Phase 1B, which allows it to expand the capacity of Barça’s stadium to 45,401 spectators.
This license includes the entire Side area, adding to the one already granted in Phase 1A – which includes the Grandstand and South Gate – and will become effective after UEFA has accepted the Catalan body’s request, deeming that “all the necessary requirements are satisfied”. As reported in the same press release, FC Barcelona will inform in the next few days the release of the tickets for the Champions League match, which are included in the 2025-26 season ticket of the members who have purchased it.
Last October, Barça promoted a single pass, valid until the end of this season, which allowed access to the Spotify Camp Nou and which gives the right to attend all the official matches of the men’s first team played at the Spotify Camp Nou starting from the match against Athletic Club, including those of LaLiga EA Sports, Copa del Rey and Champions League. “Barcelona celebrates the possibility of competing again in its stadium and continues to advance in the global transformation project of the new Spotify Camp Nou”, concluded the body chaired by Joan Laporta, which plans to finish the work on the Camp Nou and reach the maximum capacity of 105,000 spectators, at the end of 2026 or the beginning of 2027.
