The shift to e-mobility: Industry dialogue in Saxony discusses the future of mobility

The drive for clean mobility in the future

“This exchange provides an idea of ​​how the transformation resulting from the drive and mobility transition can be mastered,” said Secretary of State Scheel. Saxon companies and research institutes have developed many solutions for “innovative mobility and, above all, clean mobility”. Now the most important thing is to guarantee added value, create new opportunities and implement them in society.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the current industrial dialogue was dedicated to specific questions regarding a region in transition – from the creation of new value to reliable transport infrastructure to the expansion of the power grid to electromobility and autonomous driving technologies.

The transport and energy transition requires a holistic view

Managing Director of Saxon Energy Agency Saena, Tilman Zimmermann-Werner, emphasized the importance of a holistic view of transport and energy: “Further development of passenger and freight transport requires forward-looking vehicles as well as reliable energy supply and other infrastructure.” The Efficient Mobility Competency Center provides support, among other things, with alternative driving, charging infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems and autonomous driving.

The Saxon Industrial Dialogue has been held annually since 2020 on behalf of the Ministry of Economy at various locations in the Free State. The aim is to bring industrial networks closer together and advance ideas for transformation processes, especially in the automotive and supplier industries.
