Daniel Radcliffe revealed that he had contacted the young actor Dominic McLaughlinwho will play Harry Potter in the upcoming HBO series. Radcliffe, who played the boy wizard from 2001 to 2011, told “Good Morning America” ​​​​on Tuesday, November 18, that the 11-year-old actor responded “with a really sweet message.” The next series has been in production since July and will debut in 2027.

While speaking on “Good Morning America,” Sam Champion asked Radcliffe about the upcoming TV adaptation of Harry Potter, which will star 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin in the lead role previously played by Radcliffe.

“I’m not saying whoever plays Harry should contact me,” Radcliffe said. “I have a very warm relationship with the team, I know some of the people who work on the production, so I wrote to Dominic and sent him a letter and he wrote back with a really sweet message.”

Radcliffe added that he “didn’t want to be a scourge on these kids,” referring to a cast that includes actors McLaughlin, Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley) and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger).
