That evening, the young woman who was about to leave her theater class, got on her bicycle to go home. However, when he drove to the side of the road, a motorbike rider accidentally hit him and he fell to the ground.

After parking, the individual walked up to the young woman, “pushed her, put her on the ground and stood over her, holding her with one hand, trying to remove her tights with the other,” according to the Rennes prosecutor’s office. The man then tried to “sexually penetrate the woman with his fingers,” but was “impeded by the victim’s clothing,” the prosecutor continued.
The young woman’s screams of “struggling” alerted witnesses present nearby, who “fled the perpetrator away”, before calling 17. The perpetrator tried to escape on the victim’s bicycle, but put up a fight. He eventually left on foot, before being “arrested nearby by members of the anti-crime brigade (BAC)”.
