100 cameras and mobile police posts will be installed

Following the Louvre Museum robbery in October, Laurence des Cars was interviewed by the National Assembly’s Cultural Affairs Committee on Wednesday.

Nearly a month after the Louvre robbery in October, Laurence des Cars proposed several emergency measures. “To ensure complete protection of the environment around the museum, 100 cameras will be installed by the end of 2026”said the president of the Louvre museum, heard by the cultural affairs committee of the National Assembly, Wednesday 19 November.

He also announced “upcoming installation of a national police outpost in the Louvre area”. Laurence des Cars explains this “emergency measures” has “decided in consultation with the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Home Affairs”there it is “more than twenty emergency measures” which will be implemented in the coming months.
