In his spare time, he is committed to helping children and is said to collect juvenile pornographic material at home. Now here’s the first consequence.
The Hanover district attorney’s office is investigating a 46-year-old juvenile fire supervisor for alleged possession of juvenile pornography. During a search of his apartment in October, the data carrier was confiscated and is now being evaluated, the prosecutor’s office announced. The “Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung” previously reported.
An important clue about the man came from America. There, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) scours the Internet for relevant content. The information was first forwarded to the Federal Criminal Police Office, which then forwarded it to the Hanover general prosecutor’s office.
According to the investigating authorities, so far there is no evidence that the suspect has sexually abused children in the youth fire department. The investigation focused on alleged possession of abusive images.
As a precaution, the city of Hanover has relieved the supervisor of all duties. A city spokesperson explained that this was done “for reasons of protection and transparency” and is in effect until the allegations are fully clarified. The fire department notified parents of the ongoing investigation via a bulletin. The guardian is presumed innocent.
