The mere mention of his pseudonyms – “Mamine” or even “Jalisco” and “Nemesio”, referring to the Mexican cartel – is enough to inspire terror, as he is believed to have the capacity to execute anyone from his cell. At the age of 31, Amine O., born in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), was suspected of being the actual operational leader of the DZ Mafia in France, a group of drug traffickers historically originating from Marseille who, through extreme violence, tried to become a transnational mafia criminal organization.
This Tuesday, November 18, the inmate was transferred secretly, under reinforced guard by the GIGN police, from the Bourg-en-Bresse (Ain) pre-prison detention center to the new district for combating organized crime (QLCO) in Condé-sur-Sarthe (Orne), the second ultra-secure prison envisioned by Gérald Darmanin, Minister of Justice.
