Only 38 percent of US citizens support Donald Trump. There are two main reasons for this.

According to a survey, approval of US President Donald Trump has fallen to the lowest level in his second term. According to a Reuters/Ipsos survey published on Tuesday, only 38 percent of Americans were satisfied with his work. The reason is dissatisfaction with the handling of living expenses and the investigation into the case of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The four-day survey runs through Monday. As a result, 26 percent of Americans still believe that Trump is able to manage living costs well. 20 percent approved of his handling of the Epstein case. 70 percent of respondents believe the government is hiding information about Epstein’s clients.

Trump began his second term in January with an approval rating of 47 percent. His current rating is close to his first-term low of 33 percent and that of his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, whose approval rating has fallen to 35 percent.

The poll results come at a time when Trump’s support for the Republican Party appears to be weakening. The Republican-controlled House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to force the release of Justice Department files on Epstein. Trump had opposed it for months before changing his stance at the weekend after mounting pressure.

The Reuters/Ipsos online survey polled 1,017 US adults nationwide. The statistical margin of error is about three percentage points.
