Parade on November 20th in Mexico City: times, new route in 2025 and closed streets

The civil-military parade for the 115th anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican Revolution will have a different route this year due to the second march of Generation Z, called for the same Thursday, November 20. In her morning conference, President Claudia Sheinbaum anticipated that her government hopes that clashes like those of last Saturday – which left 120 injured and 19 detained – do not occur and asked that the protest be peaceful. “Many people come on November 20, sometimes there are hundreds of thousands of people. So we have to respect the procession,” the president said in his morning conference on Tuesday.

The tour features military contingents, floats paying homage to various revolutionary figures, historical representations of Adelitas and Soldaderas, as well as equestrian groups performing demonstrations on horseback. Unlike other years, when the procession reached Campo Marte, in 2025 the route was significantly shortened to end at the Monument to the Revolution due to the possible presence of demonstrators in the street.

It is expected that in the hours leading up to the parade, both the Mexico City Metro and Metrobús will announce cuts to public transportation due to the parade and Generation Z’s Second March.

When and where will the new gear of Generation Z be?

The second generation Z march has been announced on social networks for November 20th at 11.00. The proposed route starts from the Ángel de la Independencia and continues along Avenida Paseo de la Reforma, Juárez, Eje Central and Calle 5 de Mayo, until reaching the Zócalo of the capital. For now the authorities have not specified the security measures that will be implemented in front of the National Palace. This contrasts with last weekend, when the surroundings were protected by fences and there was a heavy police presence in the area where the parade’s initial logistics are usually set up and where the president and special guests observe the ceremony.
