Berlin drivers will have to be patient on Thursday. The place can get very busy.

There will be traffic restrictions and traffic jams in a number of Berlin districts on Thursday. During the day, several construction sites hampered traffic, the traffic information center (VIZ) said.

Bridge construction work started on the Märkische Allee in Biesdorf around 7am until around 3pm. The road towards B1/5 narrows to one lane between Kulmseestraße and Waldbacher Weg. In Kreuzberg, construction work on the gas pipeline on Skalitzer Straße will start in mid-December. Towards Gitchiner Straße, the road narrows to one lane at Lausitzer Platz.

Demonstrations led to further restrictions. In Mahlsdorf there is a risk of disruption in the areas of Hönower Strasse, Wodanstrasse, Hörselbergstrasse and Giesestrasse between 17:45. and 10 p.m.

In Neukölln, demonstrations started around 5 p.m. on Hermannplatz, which runs along Hermannstrasse and is scheduled to end around 9 p.m. on Nogatstrasse. Another demonstration in Neukölln between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. disrupting traffic in the Saalestrasse, Karl-Marx-Strasse, Fuldastrasse, Sonnenallee and Hermannplatz areas.

Events at Uber Arena in Friedrichshain (starting at 18:30) and Max-Schmeling-Halle in Prenzlauer Berg (starting at 20:45) are expected to cause increased traffic.

The traffic information center recommends public transport to Max-Schmeling-Halle due to lack of parking.
