Tech giant Meta has been ordered to pay 542 million euros to Spanish media for unfair competition. This was stated by the president of the commercial court number 15 of Madrid, Teodoro Ladrón Roda condemns the parent company for applications such as Facebook and Instagram in the lawsuit brought by more than 80 plaintiff Spanish newspapers, including EL PAÍS, united in the Association of Information Media (AMI). The amount of the sentences is divided between 479 million for the appellant press publishing companies and for the companies assigned the advertising exploitation rights, plus 60 million for interest; 2.5 million to compensate the Europa Press agency, plus 328,000 euros in interest; and more than 14,000 euros to compensate Radio Blanca.
