Play-offs, Italy draw procedure
The draw will consist of four different lines, each with four teams, in two semi-final single matches and one final. Whoever wins the mini group qualifies for the World Cup. Teams in bands 1 and 2 play the first match at home, while the final venue is determined in advance through a draw. We start with the extraction of the 4 seeds from Pot 1: they will be placed in semi-finals 1, 3, 5 and 7. Then it will be the turn of 4 in Pot 2, placed in semi-finals 2, 4, 6 and 8 and combined with the teams drawn, in order of exit, from Pot 3. In the end it will be drawn 4 teams in Pot 4 and will complete the semi-finals 1,3,5 and 7. Therefore, Italy will first know the hypothetical final opponent with whom it will be paired. and then the name of his opponent in the semifinals.
Path A: final between the winner of semi-final 1 and the winner of semi-final 2
Path B: final between the winner of semi-final 3 and the winner of semi-final 4
Course C: final between semi-final 5 winners and semi-final 6 winners
Path D: final between semi-final winner 7 and semi-final winner 8
