Dylan (all first names have been changed) allegedly started delivering cocaine because his mother was seriously ill. Amine allegedly responded to the “proposal” and agreed to store drugs in his home, to pay off a huge financial debt.
The two men, aged 22 and 30, explained themselves as best they could before the Meaux criminal court, which tried them on Wednesday. The origin of their legal trouble: “anonymous information” reached the ears of the anti-crime brigade patrol (BAC) at the Villeparisis police station. For several days, police followed the Opel Corsa and Renault Clio, leading them to Fresnes-sur-Marne, Claye-Souilly…
After witnessing from a distance several drug transactions carried out face to face “at the door”, Narcotics Task Force investigators decided to continue with the arrest phase earlier this week. Jackpot in the search since at Amine’s house, in Sevran (Seine-Saint-Denis), they found more than 300 g of cocaine, 60 ecstasy tablets, MDMA, ketamine, scales, vacuum sealing machine, sachet packaging…
The prison sentence will be served semi-freely
“The police estimate the amount of this drug at around 23,250 euros. We are talking about deliveries seven days a week, from noon to midnight, throughout Ile-de-France. Whoever complained to you seems very knowledgeable. Do you know who that person is? Maybe a competitor,” wondered President Cécile Lemoine. Dylan and Amine don’t know.
Deputy prosecutor Gaëlle Homand asked for seven months in prison, on a warrant, for Dylan, a salesman and delivery man, who has been convicted multiple times on drug charges. And for Amine, who served as a caregiver, he asked for a sentence of eight months in prison with a suspended probation period. For prosecutors, telephone investigations, banking operations and police surveillance do not allow them to escape punishment.
Me Maïlys Vignoud, defense lawyer, returns to Amine’s “difficult journey”. The young man had seen a professional project collapse several years ago. This, he says, has led him into a negative spiral: “He is not rooted in delinquency”. As for Dylan, he believes there is no evidence that he has been selling drugs for six months: “We’ve only had evidence since October.” And asked that his prison sentence be adjusted.
He got this because the two defendants – who were sentenced to one year in prison – will serve their sentences in a semi-freedom regime. Dylan – who lives in Villeparisis – was banned from performing in Seine-Saint-Denis for three years. During this period, Amine could no longer set foot on Seine-et-Marne.
