“We want peace. The Ukrainian people want peace. A just peace, which respects the sovereignty of each country. A lasting peace, which cannot be damaged by future aggression. But peace cannot mean surrender. We do not want Ukraine to surrender. And you can imagine that the Ukrainian people, who have bravely resisted unrestrained Russian aggression for more than three years, will always reject any form of surrender.” This was conveyed by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot upon his arrival at the Foreign Affairs Council.

“The principle of peace must start with a ceasefire that allows discussion of territorial issues and security guarantees. This is what we have always said. This is what Ukraine has always said,” he added.
