On November 9, the farmer from Beton-Bazoches, a town of almost 900 inhabitants, halfway between La Ferté-Gaucher and Provins (Seine-et-Marne), found himself face to face with a wolf. Four days later, a large dog was seen about ten kilometers away, at Saint-Mars-Vieux-Maison. The French Office of Biodiversity (OFB) immediately visited the site and, after carrying out various analyses, on Monday was able to confirm that it was indeed a wolf.
