Genoa, 20 November (askanews) – “An official invitation has arrived on the 28th in Rome to discuss power plants in the North. Power plants in the North that objectively need to be supplied with electricity, power plants that in the latest plans presented by the government are at risk of being stopped. That is why we said that we need a meeting to discuss the North. This meeting has arrived and we consider it very positive”. This was conveyed by Fiom CGIL Genoa secretary Stefano Bonazzi, at the end of a meeting in the prefecture with local authorities at the former Ilva factory in Cornigliano.
After meetings in the prefecture and an official call to Rome by Mimit, workers broke up a road blockade in Piazza Savio that paralyzed traffic in the western part of the city and at the Genoa highway intersection for two days.
