On the night of Saturday November 15 to Sunday November 16, at around 4 am, his two sons, the nephew and brother of Elie Kamano, a singer critical of General Mamadi Doumbouya’s junta, were kidnapped from their home in Matoto, on the outskirts of Guinea’s capital, by armed and hooded men in civilian clothes aboard a new pick-up truck.

Robert and Saa Faoulan Kamano, aged 17 and 14, Antoine Sandouno, 17, and Saa Fomba Kamano, a thirty-year-old policeman, were reported missing. Kidnapped with them, another of the artist’s nephews, aged 7, was taken back to his home by the kidnappers at around 6 am.

In a video posted on his social networks Sunday morning, Elie Kamano directly pointed out the responsibility of General Mamadi Doumbouya’s junta. “There is no doubt, it is he and his group who are behind the kidnapping and holding them captive. They reached their lowest point by attacking the children today. But I will not give in to their blackmail”he said, worried, World.
