A moment of political unity. Government spokesperson Maud Bregeon announced on Friday, November 21, that she would attend a white march planned for Saturday in Marseille in honor of Mehdi Kessaci, the brother of activist Amine Kessaci who was committed to fighting drug bandits. “The government will be present and I will leave for Marseille on Saturday with my colleague Vincent Jeanbrun, who is Minister of Municipalities and Housing”said Maud Bregeon on TF1 adding that the drama has “much to the surprise of all our citizens.”
The spokesperson assured that his trip would take place “with the decorum and civility that this event requires, without on-site communication”. This, according to him, “to mark the total commitment of the government and the support of the State, the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister”. “States and especially the Government must show, symbolically and humbly, their support and solidarity during this meeting where citizens, elected officials at local and national levels will unite against drug trafficking”Maud Bregeon’s entourage told AFP.
The spokesperson will meet many other political figures in Marseille, many of them from the left, such as Olivier Faure or Marine Tondelier. “Partisan reflexes have no place in such marches and fights.”Maud Bregeon estimates, she hopes the participants will “as much as possible” SATURDAY.
