Forza Italia, former MP Claudio Azzolini has died. Martusciello: «Gentlemen of the institution»

“Claudio Azzolini was a fine figure within the institution, a cornerstone for Forza Italia and for all of us. He represented Italy and Europe with seriousness, balance and rare human qualities, and as group leader in the European Parliament he led Forza Italia’s entry into the EPP with great authority, marking a decisive season in our political history.”

These are the comments of Fulvio Martusciello, regional secretary of Forza Italia, on the death today of the former member of the European parliament and member of the Italian parliament. Azzolini, born in Naples and a former pupil of the Nunzitella military school, was a journalist and also served as a member of the national council.

Before entering politics, he held manager positions at Alitalia, ATI, Alfa Romeo, Aeritalia and Spi.

“For me he was a friend, one of those people who were able to give weight to words and appreciate gestures. Today we have lost a figure who left a deep mark on our political community. My most sincere closeness goes to his wife Bruna, his children Davide and Serena”, continued Martusciello. The Association of Campanian Journalists also expressed its condolences to the family.
