On December 4 the Milan-Cortina Olympic flame will take place at the Quirinale. The flame, the symbol of the Olympic Games, before starting its journey across Italy, will be greeted by the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella: a ceremony is scheduled for December 5 in the Quirinale square.
The handover ceremony of the Olympic Flame arriving from Athens is scheduled for 6 pm on December 4. The next day the inauguration of the Flame ride is scheduled for 11 am in Piazza del Quirinale.
Cross-country skiing champion Stefania Belmondo, the final torch bearer at Turin 2006, and luge legend Armin Zoeggeler, will be at Olimpia on November 26 to represent Italy and Milan Cortina 2026 in the celebration of the lighting of the Olympic flame.
Thanks to the collaboration between Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 and CONI, the two blue icons will be the first torchbearers of the Greek route, immediately after the relay runners who inaugurate the route.
