When temperatures are below zero, the Berlin City Mission’s cold buses are deployed. A well-known Berliner is now campaigning for this – by appealing.

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder. Homeless and homeless people are especially affected by the weather in Berlin. To offer them assistance, refrigerated buses of the Berlin City Mission have crisscrossed the capital for decades. Kurt Krömer, Berlin actor and comedian, has now made the offer in an Instagram post – on the occasion of his birthday.

On her birthday, traffic on her Insta page is always highest, Krömer said. He wanted to use this to introduce cool buses passing through Berlin. Employees would see people living on the streets and ask if they wanted to go to accommodation or if they could get there independently.

Krömer also made an appeal to the people of Berlin. “If you see people on the street, just chat,” he continued. But he also emphasized not just hailing a cold bus, but asking first: “Are you OK?”

In the Instagram video you can also see how Krömer points the camera at the clothing collection point in front of the city mission headquarters near Berlin Central Station. “You can come through here and put clothes in,” Krömer said. Before doing so, people should look at the website to find out which clothing items are currently needed and which are not.

Kurt Krömer, whose real name is Alexander Bojcan, was born on November 20, 1974 in Berlin-Neukölln. He achieved great fame as a cabaret artist and comedian, and later interviewed famous figures on his own show “Chez Krömer”.
