The pilot of the Indian fighter plane, which crashed this Friday, November 21 during an air demonstration at the Dubai Air Show in the United Arab Emirates, has died, the government announced.
“A Tejas fighter jet from India participating in today’s air show at the Dubai Airshow crashed, resulting in the tragic death of the pilot,” wrote the official Dubai press office on the X social network.
The plane rolled at low altitude before crashing and burning about 1.6 kilometers from the show site, a witness told AFP. Videos posted on social media showed the plane falling at high speed and turning into a fireball upon impact, before the eyes of stunned onlookers. Thick smoke filled the crash site and emergency vehicles rushed to respond.
This incident occurred on the last day of the largest air show in the Middle East, which presents air shows every afternoon.
