What many have called a backlash since the start of Friedrich Merz’s term in office has not been a backlash at all: we simply haven’t made enough progress in terms of feminism.

When? Friedrich Merz worried about Ricarda Lang? When he got into a taxi with a man in a turban. What sounded like a joke on the internet was not only a true story, but also marked what many called a backlash since the start of Friedrich Merz’s tenure as chancellor.
This backlash has been discussed for at least several days since federal election was discussed when Markus Söder posted a photo: six top Union officials gathered around a table at Konrad Adenauer House, with a promise to push for “policy change”. This caused derision and spite on the Internet, but beyond that, it didn’t seem to upset the gentlemen any more. This picture is certainly in accordance with the “will of the voters”. The new Bundestag is more male. Not even a third of existing mandates are held by women.
