The Düsseldorf club celebrates its anniversary

The overnight stay has seen its ups and downs in the last 25 years. Many celebrities from the Klitschkos to Toten Hosen visited the club during this time.
Nachtresidenz in Düsseldorf celebrates its 25th anniversary this weekend. It is no longer commonplace for a discotheque to reach the age of 25 years. But “Resi” has always survived its worst crises: first the Corona pandemic, then the partial collapse of the ceiling structure in March 2022, and finally the change in the culture of leaving the house.
“The uncertainty about whether there would be a future for night stays was economically, emotionally and personally stressful,” said “Resi” boss Marcel Oelbracht, looking back on the past. However, the club managed to forget the difficult times, for example with the forced closure during the pandemic, and experience new beautiful moments. The most “emotionally forming” event for Oelbracht just happened a few months ago.
Due to bad weather, the large gravel pit opening had to be spontaneously moved from Blankenwasser to the night residence in the summer. What initially seemed like a bitter setback for him turned out to be one of the happiest nights in 25 years for Oelbracht.
He reported to t-online’s local editorial team: “When French DJ Hugel played at the Kuppelsaal and the energy in the room exploded, the atmosphere was incredible – a night full of goosebumps, tears and pure magic.”
