A young man, arrested in Clermont-Ferrand as part of an investigation into the Nov. 7 stabbing death of a man, was arraigned and placed in pre-trial detention Friday, prosecutors said.
Aged 19, he was arrested on Wednesday in the city center by police officers from the territorial crime division (DCT), before being taken into police custody, Clermont-Ferrand prosecutor Éric Serfass said in a press release.
The victim is 20 years old
On the night of November 6 to 7, a fight broke out between two groups of people in the city center with a motive that is still unknown, according to prosecutors.
At one point, one of the protagonists goes to get a knife. Upon his return, he punched a young man in the chest who could not be saved by emergency services, according to the same source.
