Anticipation for the new season is high in the DSV camp. Ski jumping star Andreas Wellinger (30): “I’m looking forward to the season. It’s an intensive four months ahead, with a lot of important things.”

But Germany’s big hope is likely to be teammate Philipp Raimund (25), who recently attracted attention with his win at the Summer Grand Prix. Wellinger: “He didn’t win the Summer Grand Prix because he was everywhere, but because he jumped so well.” So far, Raimund has not gone past 20th in the final World Cup rankings – this year his summer momentum will take him even higher.

Katharina Schmid (29) is also ready again after a disappointing second half of the 2024/25 season. “I thought about it a lot after the season, but with the first jump in training, it all came back. The fire was burning and I was really interested in skiing,” said an excited Oberstdorfer on BR24Sport.

Horst Hüttel, World Cup/Nordic Combined Ski Jumping Sports Director: “At the start of the season we will start with six women and five men. We are very excited to see where we stand after this first international comparison.”
