“Chase him out the door, he comes back through the window”: Arash Derambarsh becomes a law doctor again

Drop one thesis on Arash Derambarsh, he will defend the other. Having his law doctorate stripped after being accused of plagiarism, the deputy mayor of Courbevoie has regained the prestigious title he holds so dear. The diploma he obtained was far from France, in Armenia, more precisely at the University of Yerevan where he defended and obtained, last spring, a thesis on the theme… food waste.

“Why Armenia?” some of his critics ask suspiciously. Because Arash Derambarsh has absolutely no right to defend his thesis in France. After his plagiarism case, the Sorbonne’s disciplinary department had actually canceled his thesis defense, and consequently his diploma. But not only that. The university has also announced its definitive exclusion from any institution of higher education.
