At the Claudie-Darcy roundabout in Marseille, this Saturday afternoon, where at 3 pm, a white parade in memory of Mehdi Kessaci was organized by the family, his father Ahmed, 54, approached the bouquets and bouquets. It was here, on November 13, that his 20-year-old son was shot in the chest by two men on a motorbike.
“Look at Mehdi’s blood, it’s there, it doesn’t just disappear,” he said, pointing his index finger at the asphalt near the white rose. Before the demonstration began, this mechanic with a white beard and black hat, and the father of Amine Kessaci, an environmental activist who fought against drug bandits, agreed to surrender.
What do you hope to gain from this gathering in Marseille, as in other cities in France in memory of your son?
AHMED KESSACI. It is an honor for me to see people for my son. I hope the awareness starts today. Even in Paris there were demonstrations. If we unite, we can change the world together. But after this walk, everyone will go home…
(1/2) The Jean Aprin affair: criminal conspiracy in the vineyard
Crime story tells major criminal cases every week.
How do you feel?
My life changed immediately. My son went without success. He is a beautiful boy, a wonderful boy. Now I’m waiting for my turn, there’s no point in staying alive! I talked to my son at the grave. Even before the tragedy, I was sick, I suffered from epilepsy.
And your son Amine, how is he?
Morally, he is at ground zero. I hope he survives for a long time (envy).
What do you hope for now?
French mobilization must be complete. I hope France maintains its vigilance. As my daughter, Amine, says: Wake up! We’ve been sleeping for years. This is not Marseille’s business, this is the whole of France’s business. I can’t fight alone, I only have two hands. We need the State with us. Now, we need victory in honor of Mehdi, total security! But we will win. Marseille is an extraordinary city.
What do you think should be done to eradicate drug trafficking?
We have to go after drug users. For them, it must be prison!
