Starting April 2026, there will be no scooter sharing in Florence. After two extensions, the City Government decided not to continue services in a structured manner. The basis of the decision, formalized through a resolution signed by mobility council member Andrea Giorgio, are changes to national legislation and important issues regarding the management of services. One is the fact that it will be difficult to guarantee compliance with helmet requirements despite inspections by the municipality.
According to the Municipality, “a situation of potential systematic violations of the highway code exists which is unacceptable for urban and highway safety”.
