Chairman of AfD Hamburg Dirk Nockemann was once again confirmed to office with a large majority. A party conference at the state level elected the 67-year-old as state chairman for the next two years with a vote share of nearly 90 percent, the party announced. Nockemann achieved his best election result to date two years ago with more than 95 percent of the vote. The leader of the AfD parliamentary group on citizenship has been chairman of the Hamburg regional association since 2017.
“The party conference was controversial but constructive,” Nockemann said. He is confident about the future with the new state board. “We want ours AfD “Continue to be professional, develop and prepare well for the upcoming election campaign in Hamburg.” The AfD parliamentary group in the Hamburg parliament is the smallest group in parliament with nine members.
There were also no changes in deputies: According to the party, citizen representatives Krzysztof Walczak and Joachim Körner were confirmed, as was Bundestag member Alexander Wolf. Peggy Heitmann remains treasurer.
