A Landes pensioner, who was declared dead by mistake a month ago in place of his mother-in-law, has been fighting to have his vital card reactivated and reported the situation to ICI Gascogne (formerly France Bleu). “wretched” And “disappointing”.
This sixty-year-old woman, a resident of Pays Tarusate, in the heart of Landes department, called the Occupational Pension and Health Insurance Fund (Carsat) a month ago to report the recent death of her mother-in-law. “The person who answered the phone asked for information about my mother-in-law, but also my own CPAM registration number, and he was confused between the two”explained the retiree, who did not want to be named, to ICI Gascogne.
“The city hall of my city contacted me and informed me of the receipt of the document announcing my death”he added, while his death was also communicated to his Health Insurance and supplementary pension funds. If Carsat, after being notified of the error, corrects its files quickly, then Carsat cannot act with other organizations.
“The Carsat agent follows my files and calls me several times a week, but the problem is that he cannot correct errors in other funds, with other organizations”he taunted. In addition, he himself had to contact these organizations one by one, to explain to them that he was alive, and had to send them, for this, a “life certificate”, established by the town hall of his commune.
“I have moments of despair when things are not progressing”he admitted. Currently, the sixty-year-old woman still has not received her vital card, which has been deactivated by Health Insurance. His online account which was deleted has just been reactivated. “But there were mistakes, for example I no longer mentioned the doctor who treated me and reimbursement was blocked.”.
