A 79-year-old man was hit by a train in Leer and seriously injured. The accident occurred at a level crossing in Mittelweg, authorities said POLICE with. The man died at the accident scene. Investigators found the bicycle near the crossing. It is alleged the elderly resident braked on the barrier and fell off his bike and onto the track, a police spokesman said. The investigation continues.
